Hey there all two people who follow this newgrounds page! I've been working away at my RPG, Mushi Taberu (虫食べる)! If you haven't heard of it, Mushi Taberu (虫食べる) is a dungeon crawler RPG inspired by the SMT and Etrian Odyessy games.

It's about a girl who's apartment complex gets taken over by a race of mutant bugs, turning it into a giant hive of sorts. This makes it pretty hard to get food delivered! So she's not having any of that, and after gaining the power of the bugs themselves, our protagonist, Meridith becomes a hybrid of bug and human. Using her new powers she plans to eradicate these bugs from her apartment complex!

By ingesting the mutant bugs herself, she can gain their powers, and slowly amass an arsenal of powerful abilities. Some bugs will increase her stats, while others will give her new skills.

I originally was using RPG Maker for this game, but the jank 3D I was doing proved to run incredibly poorly. So I've recently swapped to Godot for better 3D support, and better flexibility overall. It's proven to be difficult to create the mechanics from the ground up, but it's defintely going to pay off.
